We have been having the craziest weather. One week we’ll need to wear layers of sweatshirts and t-shirts and the next week we can practically wear shorts. New Year’s Eve was like that. On New Year’s Eve day, it was warm for this time of year and I was able to go grocery shopping and get the mail in only a custom t-shirt rather than having to put on something warmer. Then the very next day, it was freezing cold, extremely windy, and went from feeling like spring to the depths of winter. My hoodie sweatshirt felt paper thin when I took out the garbage that day. I have to say, I like winter (to a point) but I’m not complaining about the warmer temps. As long as it stays warmer, it saves money on our electric bill and our propane bill. There’s nothing undesirable about that! Plus the warmer weather allows me to wear t-shirts around the house rather than sweats so it saves on wear and tear on my sweatshirts so they’ll last me longer. I kind of hope this warmish trend continues for a while. I don’t think I’d be sad at all this year if it never really felt all that much like winter.

You want to know what’s not fun? Spilling your nephew’s full can of root beer down the inside front of your favorite button down
shirt is not fun. My unsuspecting nine year old nephew asked me if I could put a topper on his can of root beer when we were at my mom and dad’s house celebrating Christmas. I had made sure to wear my favorite shirt and pants that day since I don’t get out much, so when I do I take the opportunity to wear my favorite clothes. Anyway, what he didn’t suspect is that I am such a klutz. My mom has these toppers that she saw on tv that you put on a can of pop and the make a good seal so it is then like a bottle with a closeable lid and everything. So my nephew wanted to have one of these put on his pop, and since I had successful put them on cans before I told him it would be no problem. Little did I know that Mt Root Beer was about to erupt all over the front of my shirt. The topper didn’t go on the can quite as planned, and I ended up squeezing the can squirting root beer up and into and down the inside of my button down shirt. Needless to say, I was rather sticky so as soon as we got home I (quite literally) peeled off my clothes and hopped into the shower. I think after this, I just might suggest a cup with a lid next time someone wants a pop…
